Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where can I get information about the processing
performed at each hole?
A. The Documents
section of each Index Page contains detailed information about the processing
performed for each dataset at a particular hole.
Q. I am not familiar with log and logging tool acronyms.
Where can I find their definition?
A. The list of all
the acronyms used in NGHP is available in the Documents section of the
Index Page (see previous question). The list of the definitions of all the data
files of each hole is available as a File Dictionary link at the top of the
Index Page of a particular dataset.
Q. I am searching for the data types of a specific hole
and I have come up with page-long lists of individual files. How do I get a
list of the data types available at a specific hole?
A. To get a list of
data types instead of individual files, you must click on the active link for
the hole in the ÔResults:HoleÕ or ÔResults:FilesÕ page. This will take you to
the hole Index Page.
Q. I noticed that not all data types are listed in the
Results:Files page.
A. A complete list
of the data types of a specific hole is available on the Index Page of the
hole. To access the Index Page, click on the hole number in the Results:Files
page (see previous question)
Q. Is any industry-standard format available in this
database?
A. The DLIS (Digital
Log Interchange Standard) is available for both original (raw) and processed
data. Data in this format are available only through the Index Page of a
specific hole.
